SOLO AWARD WINNER 2016

Victoria Lucas
"I am extremely happy to have been selected as this year’s SOLO Award winner. The award marks a 10 year milestone in my career as a practicing arts professional, and I am looking forward to working with WW Gallery and Mark Devereux Projects to realise my proposed project at the London Art Fair over the coming months."
– Victoria Lucas

Victoria is represented by Mark Devereux Projects.

WW is looking forward to working with Victoria and Mark over the next few months in preparation for her solo show at the London Art Fair in January 2017.

An interview with Victoria Lucas is available on Art Attack, together with a curated collection of Victoria's work on the Art Attack app's Curated Art page.

For the next two weeks Victoria will be working on a research paper for the Overwhelming Imagination: Achieving and Undermining Contradictions International Art Conference, taking place at the Si Shang Art Museum in Beijing, China. Her paper is entitled Islands, Micro-nations and Sanctuaries: Escapism, Subversion and Liberation and will be presented as part of the Global Politics panel on the 4th July 2016. The paper directly links to the Lay of the land (and other such myths) project, which formed part of her winning SOLO Award application.

Other current exhibitions include screenings of her National Portrait Gallery commissioned film Conflict (2014) as part of three different B#SIDE WAR events / exhibitions in May to July 2016 in Italy.
