Submissions have now closed
Artists from around the world were invited to submit work for Travelling Light, in any media and any size provided it arrived by post in a standard large letter envelope or box and met with the criteria below. There was no set theme, except the restrictions themselves and artists were encouraged to be as inventive, innovative and lateral-thinking as possible and to enjoy the challenge of seeing what could fit into and come out of an envelope.

criteria:
- All works must be deliverable by post, fit into a standard post office box or bag complying with ‘large letter' posting class, see details below
- The overall dimensions of the packaging must be max 353 x 250mm, max 25mm depth, max 750g weight (including all packaging) even if the art work itself is to be of different dimensions when exhibited; there are no max dimensions for the work. The work and packaging can also be smaller/flatter/lighter than this
- Presentation/assembly instructions must be included for any 3D or large-scale 2D work
- All 2D work should be sent unframed and no fragile items are admissable
- All work must be clearly labelled with name, address & email
- Return postage & address label must be included. Packaging will be reused to return the work
- Artists must enclose a £20 non-refundable submission fee with their work, cheques payable to 'Travelling Light'
- Artists must agree to the terms and conditions: print off and sign the exhibition agreement and enclose with your submission.
- Deadline for receipt of submissions is Tuesday 31 March 2009
- Work not complying with the criteria will not be considered and will be returned
- Correspondence will be via email
